small I know P OR R in a Wreath Marking on a red vase with white flowers

Hi everyone,

Mark is probably nothing but I've wasted a week looking!

So I guess I will start by saying I am not an antique dealer or a die hard collector. I just enjoy the look of certain pottery, especially Majolica pieces or unique shapes & colors of vases and planters. I just aquired that famous Hull planter with a giraffe ;)

I sell flowers roadside.. yes I am a hawker. I enjoy my flowers and plants so I need all the pots/vases I can get.

This one is DRIVING ME CRAZY! But the thought of it being a relic is exciting too, prolly isn't though, that I understand. So I have been sluething for 4 to 5 hours a day for a week. My house is upside down, my family is starving & the dishes are piling up. So you could say that I am totally consumed trying to find the makers mark.

The vase is 12 inches tall

about 5 inches wide on the top
weight is approx. 4 lbs?
bought from online auction
no history on it

markings are faded & look like a stamping mistake where it is supposed to say made in .....?

If anyone can help, oh jeez that would be awesome.

Regards,
Megan

Hi Megan

I sympathise with you. I hope you got round to feeding your folk!

I can't really help you on this one.

I can't read the writing either. Let's just put this out there and see what happens.

Hi, I have just picked up a piece today with the same mark except mine is stamped in red. Mine clearly says made in Poland and it also has a manufacture number 15087. The piece definitely has some age to it but there is no hint anywhere as to anybody knowing what it is.

Hey Carey

This is great clue, thanks for posting.

Now we just need to find out which Polish pottery this belongs to.

If anyone has any knowledge or clues, please post.

Send pics to me at peter@theclayartist.com

Best regards
