One of the small blue circle stamps
I am an avid collector of all things collectable and antiques.
I usually veer towards wooden items although I do collect Bretby Pottery and Sarreguimines.
The main items in my collection are wooden candlesticks and some Tonbridge ware wooden boxes. I also have a few silver items, letter openers, spoons and a couple of salts. I also have a thing for bookends and have Bretby Pottery dog and cat bookends as well as some collectables of the future such as my Beano bookends.
I found this in a charity shop the other day, I was very taken by it. I usually peruse Ebay on a regular basis as well as going to car boots but I happened to be in a charity shop as my girlfriend was looking for a vintage top and this item stood out to me straight away.
I do have a thing for cake stands in particular(I have 2 wooden ones) and this one stood out as I liked the picture. Also the condition for something so old looking was quite impressive although please note I do describe condition of the item in further detail later on in this passage.
It has a very nice image, I am no expert but think that it may be transfer printed but I am not 100% sure. The item itself has some crazing as you can see from the pictures and it also has one small hairline crack but is eminently usable and looks great but I am intrigued regarding its maker.
As you can see from the pictures, there are 2 visible marks ( a circles and what looks like a C) then what I think could be a K or a D followed by a space then an E. There are also some raised shapes which I hope my camera has showed.
Beyond this I really don't have any further information - one of the raised shapes looks like it has possibly a straight bottom then a curved top but it is quite difficult to see the image clearly - I hope that the pictures help.
I have searched this site and others for any information regarding the maker and have been unable to find any hence I have uploaded the pictures to see if someone can help and give me some information if possible.
