Vale Mark Query - Royal Crown Derby Cats Series -Pearly QUEEN

Vale Mark Query - Royal Crown Derby Cats Series -Pearly QUEEN:- Dear sir/madam . I have recently acquired an " albino" version of the Royal Crown Derby -Cats Series - PEARLY QUEEN. It has a back stamp in High Case Letters " ROYAL VALE " - no other mark or stamp.

I have compared this piece with my Pearly Queen ( Royal Crown Derby China ) from my set of CATS . I find that it is entirely white glazed with just a band of gold paint around the hat and around the base'. No other colour at all - alongside the rich colourway of my RC piece it is very odd.!Somewhat aneamic! I think it is maybe an import/copy from PRC but the quality is good NOT rubbish . Can anyone tell me if this was an early slip or any reason why it was not finished.?

Roger Yeatman .

by: Anonymous

This cat was given a quick lick of gold as they had excess stock and wanted to sell it quick, i know as i did them

Was I sold a fake

I have just bought a snowy rabbit with a 21st anniversary on the gold stopper, certificate, box etc.

I have since been looking on sites such as yours and see this was dated 2002 as introduced. Am I correct this cannot be an anniversary one?

Carole.

Royal vale cat dog peacock
by: Angela

Hi
I took have the cat with the hat gold lines plus a dog which is like the royal crown derby national dogs Afghan. Also a taller peacock. Very beautiful quality white china. I have seen no other pics of the peacock.
I believe when RCDerby broke away from the Doulton group excess slips were decorated up in gold and sold off. Lawleys did stock these I believe.
